The purposes of the study was to improve and anlyzed hyperbole in Grown Ups 2 movie. Hyperbole theory in this study divided into two main parts such as; types of hyperbole forms and scales of hyperbole. The data of this study is Grown Ups 2 movie script. The data has been classified according to the theory of the study.
This study conducted as qualitative research using Miles and Hubberman theory. The study use Miles and Hubberman theory to collect the data, make data reduction, analyse the data, and make the conclusion. Data validity checking techniques using triangulation of sources and methods.
The result of the study applied on findings of the types of hyperbole forms and scales of hyperbole. The research shows the data that containing hyperbolic forms and the conversation that included on scales of hyperbole. The writer found the 47 data of hyperbolic forms and 7 data included on scales hyperbole. The single-word hyperbole found in 18 data of the study, phrasal hyperbole found 7 data of the study, clausal data found 1 data of the study, numerical hyperbole found 4 data of the study, repetition hyperbole found 13 data of the study, and comparison hyperbole found 4 data of the study. And the scales of hyperbole found in 3 data of conversation, semantic scales found 2 conversation data of the study, pragmatics scales found 1 data of the study, and argumentative scales found 4 data of the study.
