Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kontruksi makna cadar bagi
mahasiswi bercadar di Universitas Trunojoyo Madura. Informan dari penelitian
ini adalah 4 orang mahasiswi bercadar. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori
kontruksi sosial, fenomenologi dan komunikasi interpersonal. Jenis penelitian
kualitatif, metode penelitian fenomenologi dan instrumen penelitian observasi
terlibat, wawancara dan dokumentasi.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dari temuan tentang makna cadar yang diperoleh
berdasarkan tahap proses pemaknaan yaitu, ekternalisasi, objektivasi dan
internalisasi bahwa mahasiswi bercadar memaknai cadar sebagai bentuk
pelindung, karena bagi mereka wajah merupakan sumber utama fitnah
