The purposes of the study are to determine the way of housekeeper in
solving problem related to family financial and mental block of housekeeper
dealing with the financial problems. The study belongs to phenomenological
qualitative research using 3 housekeepers as the subject of study through
purposive sampling technique. Data collecting techniques applied are semistructured

interview in Miles and Huberman data analysis and also time
triangulation as data validity test. The results showed that their mental block
inside housekeeper cause economic problems family housekeeper increasingly
complicated and protracted. They can be seen on some aspects; functional
fixednees - a tendency of using cash for reaching family happines and also to pay
off debt; mental set – a belief of debt as the only solution to overcome any
economic problem that make them cannot step away from debt; perceptual added
frame - the perception that inhibit housekeeper especially about facing the
economic problems or their abilities in transforming their lives of inducing a sense
of fear of starting something new, that make housekeeper into trouble for change a
better life.
