Advisor: prof.DrSuryo Tri Saksono,M.Pd.Veronika Roth’s Divergent is a novel which shows the interesting issue of power and domination of the sovereign of the Erudite faction from the Jeanine over other factionsurround her especially to Dauntless faction. Jeanine has more power to dominate other people through her knowledge, speech, and her action. In this study how does Jeanine dominate other people and what kind of effect was happened to the society. This study uses power and domination proposed by Michel Foucault and Antonio Gramsci. This study aims to explain more about the theory clearly appropriate with the data and also in the social life.The method of collecting the data is close reading by qualitative research to analyze the data in the form of words. The result of this study because has several issue which can be elaborate deeply those are archaeology, genealogy, intellectual power, and hegemony of ideology. Some effect that appeared in the end of the novel those war and faction less. In this study the power and domination of Jeanine has some effects inthe social life that appeared in the novel and also the effects appeared in the novel such as war and factionless.
