Abstract

Tebu (Saccharum officinarum Linn) adalah bahan baku utama penghasil
gula. Tanaman tebu merupakan tanaman tahunan yang dapat ditanam di lahan sawah
maupun lahan kering (tegal) dengan sistem keprasan (ratoon). Tanaman ini termasuk
jenis rumput-rumputan. Umur tanaman sejak ditanam sampai bisa dipanen mencapai
kurang lebih 1 tahun sehingga tergolong tanaman tahunan
