Louisa's Roles In Me Before You By Jojo Moyes

Woman role has the important position in the social structres. Me Before You by Jojo Moyes represents the social issue of women roles. Therefore, this study is intended to: (1) describe the Louisa roles in Me Before You novel by Jojo Moyes and (2) describe how the other characters respond to Louisa roles. This study was conducted by using qualitative descriptive research. The features of qualitative descriptive research, the data collection was done simultaneously with the data analysis. There are three related processes in the data analysis, reducing data, displaying data and making conclusion. From the study, it is found that the woman roles are reflected in the character Louisa and the society. She gets the rights to work outside home. The society perspective is the important part to realize the woman roles. Threfore, the result of this study consists three points, there are (1) Louisa is a breadwinner, (2) Louisa works as a chef, waiter, home energy adviser, a factory employee and the caretaker, (3) the society supports Louisa as a breadwinner to work at outside home and give the strenght for Lou in order to be more confident to get a new job.
