Abstract
ABSTRACT
Ahmad Junaidi 13.05.1.1.1.00112. A Study of Humour Strategies Used In Soto Madura Show. Thesis. English Study Program, Faculty of Social and Cultural Sciences, University of Trunojoyo Madura. First Advisor: Misnadin, S.S., MA., Ph.D.
This study focuses on the types of humour strategies found in Soto Madura Show. This study uses the theory proposed by Schwarz (2010) to analyze the types of humour strategies found in Soto Madura Show.
This study uses decriptive qualitative design. The source of data is the videos of Soto Madura Show, while the data is the utterances of madurese jokes. The method used in collecting data is conten analysis.
The conclusion of this study are: (1) In Soto Madura Show consist of paralanguage (which used intonation strategies), ridicule (self ridicule, private ridicule), blue material, wordplay, and hyperbole. The writer found 37 data belong to 5 data belong to paralanguage, 8 data belong to ridicule, 10 data belong to blue material, 5 data belong to wordplay and 8 data belong to hyperbole.
