Abstract

Indonesia merupakan Negara agraris dimana pertanian menjadi sumber mata pencaharian sebagian besar penduduknya, salah satunya tanaman cabe jamu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat perbedaan karakteristik petani cabe jamu sistem tanam kebun dengan petani cabe jamu sistem tanam pagar di Kecamatan Bluto Kabupaten Sumenep. Pemilihan lokasi dalam penelitian ini dilakukan secara sengaja (purposive sampling) yaitu Kecamatan Bluto Kabupaten Sumenep. Jumlah sampel pada penelitian ini sebanyak 60 responden terbagi atas 30 sampel untuk petani cabe jamu sistem tanam kebun dan 30 sampel untuk petani cabe jamu sistem tanam pagar. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan terdapat perbedaan karakteristik petani cabe jamu sistem tanam kebun sebesar 26,51 tergolong tinggi, sedangkan karakteristik petani cabe jamu sebesar 21,38 tergolong rendah.
