Unseen creatures are very interesting to analyze. People have their respective opinions to believe in supernatural beings. People assume supernatural beings can help and disturb human life. For example they can help in the form of cunning and to bully in the kindness. it makes people have to determine how they behave towards supernatural beings. The purpose of this study is to revealed the myth or monster issues and the reactions of society in the novel All The Missing Girls written by Megan Miranda. This research focuses on the words, actions, and thoughts of the main characters and the narrator's narration which shows the cause of the monster issue in the city of Cooley Ridge.
This research uses qualitative research because the data are in the form of words. This study uses the theory of gothic literature by Fred Botting as the main theory. This theory emphasizes the appearance of monster and monster as an issue that causes anxiety in life. The results of this study indicate that the causes of the appearance of monster and monstrosity are the result of human fear that causes hallucinations. The effect of this problem has been increase the fear and worried experienced by the main characters and society.
