Analysis of Lexical Cohesion In Noam Chomsky's Speech About Palestinian Right

The aims of the study to anlyased the types of lexical cohesion and function of lexical cohesion used in Noam Chomsky’s Speech. This study used Halliday and Hasan’s (1976) theory.
This study was conducted using a descriptive qualitative method. The source of data is noam chomsky’s speech. The data are the word, phrases, clauses and sentences found in noam chomsky’s speech. The method of collecting data used content analysis method proposed by Sugiyono (2011).
The findings showed there were three types of lexical cohesion used by authors. The first is repetition (15 data); the second is synonymy (4 data); and the last antonymy (1 data). Meanwhile, there were three function of lexical cohesion used by authors. They are to indicate repetition (15 data), to indicate synonymy (4 data), and to indicate antonymy (1 data).
