The Interpretation of Nazi's Ideology in Kristin Hannah's The Nightingale(A New Historical Aproach)

Both of history and literature are very interesting to be mixed up. Some of novels in this era still cannot move up from the aspect of history. However, the story about history has its own attractiveness for some literary connoisseurs. The Nightingale is a novel about history that is writtenby Kristin Hannah. This novel shows how two siblings namely Isabelle and Vianne struggle to survive in the era of World War II in France.This study focuses on the new historicism approach which aims to discuss about new discourse of Nazi.
The aims of this study are to (1) find outthe ideology of the author about Naziimplied in the novel, (2) describe the social-political condition of World War II represented in the novel, and also (3) find out the ideology of Nazi interpreted in the novel that create a new discourse.
This research uses qualitative descriptive method. The usage source of data istaken from novel, entitled “The Nightingale” by Kristin Hannah.The other sources are taken from several books and websites. In conclusion, the results of this study are (1) the ideology of the author which tends to pro allied country (2) the suffering social and political condition of France during World War II (3) the new discourse of Nazi that Nazi only follows the order from Hitler.
