Abstract
Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan atau menggambarkan kemampuan membaca puisi melalui model Direct Instruction siswa kelas III di SDN Buluh 1. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Jenis penelitian ini adalah naturalistik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deksriptif. Narasumber yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 7 narasumber terdiri dari 6 siswa kelas III dan guru kelas III di SDN Buluh 1. Pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu wawancara, observasi, teknik tes (unjuk kerja) dan dokumentasi. Analisis data yang digunakan melalui tahapan reduksi, display dan conclusing.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian kemampuan membaca puisi siswa kelas III di SDN Buluh 1 memenuhi kriteria sangat baik dengan rentang skor 16-20. Berdasarkan skor tertinggi yang diperoleh siswa, model pembelajaran yang digunakan oleh guru sangat efektif sehingga mampu mencapai tujuan pembelajaran yang diharapkan. Model yang digunakan adalah model pembelajaran langsung (Direct Instruction).
