Analisis Miskonsepsi Siswa Dengan Metode Three-Tier Multiple Choice Pada Materi Gaya

The purpose of this study was to know percentage of students
misconceptions on the force material and the factors of student’s misconception.
The research instrument are diagnostic test with Three-Tier Test method on the
force material and interviewed to the teacher and 9 students by 77 students who
categorize into higher misconception. Based on data the average percentage of
students who has misconception by the 15 problems was 45%, the percentage of
students who did not understand the concept was 25%, the percentage of students
who understood the concept was about 17%, and the percentage of pupils who
experienced an error was about 13%. The highest percentage of misconception
showed at point number 7 with the indicator about the mass-style interaction
analysis with force in daily life was about 88% and the lowest misconception
showed at point number 14 with the indicator about gravity force analysis
working on a system was about 17% by 77 pupils. In addition, the factors causing
misconceptions were preconceptions or early concepts of students, false intuition,
student ability, interest in learning and textbooks.
