AN ANALYSIS OR REPAIR IN CONVERSATION IN THE IMITATION GAME MOVIE SCRIPT

The significance of the study was to know and anlyze repair in conversation appear in The Imitation Game movie script. Repair theory in this study divided into two main parts such as; types of repair and the trouble sources of repair. The data of this study is The Imitation Game movie script. The data has been classified according to the theory of the study.
To analyze the data, this study usetheory of Schegloff, Jefferson, And Sack (1977).This study is conducted by using a qualitative research because the data are in the form of words. The data of the study is a movie script that contains repair analysis entitled The Imitation Game. The data collection in this study obtained by using documentation method through script, recorded and note taking technique.The writer uses interactive data analysis when analyzing the data.
In the findings, the writer finds four types of repair, they are self-initiated self-repair (4 data), self-initiated other-repair (8 data), other-initiated self-repair (10 data), and other-initiated other-repair (8 data). The writer also finds three source problems of repair, 14 data includes into problems of acceptability, 4 data includes into problems of hearing, and 12 data includes into problems of understanding.
