Abstract

ABSTRAK

Pembuatan garam memerlukan beberapa petakan peminihan yang didalamnya dapat ditemui lumut dan kerang kerangan. Keberadaan lumut tersebut berpengaruh terhadap pengelolaan maupun persiapan lahan pada proses pra produksi garam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan kelangsungan hidup lumut (Spirogyra sp.) pada berbagai derajat kepekatan air laut yang berasal dari tambak garam. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu pengambilan sampel air garam dengan derajat kepekatan air laut yang berbeda-beda yaitu 3 oBe, 6 oBe, 11 oBe, 18 oBe, dan 23 oBe. masing-masing perlakuan tersebut dilakukan 3 kali ulangan selama 7 hari, serta pengukuran parameter sebagai pendukung. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan kelangsungan hidup lumut pada derajat kepekatan air laut yang berbeda terdapat perbedaan di setiap perlakuan. Rendahnya nilai kelangsungan hidup lumut disebabkan oleh tingginya derajat kepekatan air laut.
