Abstract
Pengaruh iklim dan cuaca yang tidak menentu, memberikan dampak terhadap penurunan ketahanan Eucheuma cottonii. Penelitian dilakukan di Kecamatan Gapura dan Kecamatan Dungke’ Kabupaten Sumenep. Pengamatan parameter utama meliputi : identifikasi spesies epifit, dan kepadatan spesies epifit. Kualitas perairan diambil sebagai data pununjang. Spesies epifit yang ditemukan pada 2 stasiun sebanyak 5 spesies yaitu Chaetomorpha crassa, Enteromorpha intestinalis, Ulva reticulata, Sargasssum duplicatum, dan Sargassum crassifolium. Rata-rata kepadatn epifit tertinggi ada pada staiun 1 yaitu pada spesies Chaetomorpha crassa dengan persentase mencapai 3,00 individu/m2.
